It’s happening! Although we haven’t heard about any big numbers of Bass, there are some around and the Blues have showed up in force. Sounds like the better fishing has been around the inlets though, in places like Democrat Point, Sore Thumb and West End 2.

West End 2 sounds like it has been pretty consistent at sunset as well as sunrise with some occasional action during the days. More Blues than Bass, but action none the less. Seems that the bait fisherman have been out-catching the lures with either fresh bunker or clams. The lures that DO seem to be working lately have been small Diamond Jigs like the 007 and 17 size with white tubes, Bobmbers and the Charlie Graves Tins.

Similar results seem to be coming from Demo as well, with more action on bait than on lures. Fresh Bunker and Clams have been hard to beat down there but we did hear of some fish caught on the new Tsunami Pencil Poppers though, during the day.

It’s definitely time to go scouting the beaches, there are reports coming from just about every beach now, but as we mentioned… the better reports are coming from around the inlets.

Just a side note though… we recently got a delivery of new Wooden METAL LIP lures from Tsunami… VERY NICE STUFF and worth a look for anyone who fishes the beach!
