Good news folks…. we heard some pretty encouraging things the past few days! For starters, the Bunker are starting to filter in to the bays, especially to the west in areas like Little Neck Bay and Jamaica Bay and Raritan Bay.

Reports coming from Jamaica bay were mostly from people snagging the bunker with snag hooks and then live-lining the Bunker. However there are a few that are chunking and fishing the cut bait on fish-finder type rigs.

Little Neck bay has the Bunker too, but it sounds like THAT fishing has been mostly on lures. Specifically small plastic baits like the Tsunami Swim Shads, Bass Assasin’s, Slu-Go’s and Hogy Lures. Small Bomber Lures and small Bucktail Jigs are almost always a good met in that area too.

We were on the phone with our Shimano rep yesterday, who lives in NJ and he had been hearing about TONS of Bass in Raritan Bay too. Many people have been Flounder fishing in there and they’re catching more Bass than Flounders!

With the weather getting nicer by the day now, we would expect to hear about some Bass in our bay any day now. Some of the places in our area that are definately worth a look right now would be in the inlet, the big Meadowbrook bridge, Swift Creek and the Long Creek bridge.

As we hear or more activity, we’ll certainly post it.

SEND US SOME REPORTS FOLKS!!! We LOVE to see the pictures TOO!!
