Things seem to be slowly… but steadily… improving. There have been a few more fish being caught clam chumming around the bridges and on the West Bar, a couple fish on Eels in the back bays and a few fish on live bait in the back bays as well. Those that have been catching Kingfish and using them live, have had some recent success way up in the back… east of the Wantagh bridges. A few people have been catching the Lafyettes and using them live too… with good results.

Plugging seems quite slow, probably because of the East wind, however there seems to be a TON of bait around. Spearing, Peanut Bunker, full size Bunker and even Mullet have been plentiful but there isn’t much chasing it around….. YET.

Water temps are falling now so things should continue to improve, but this is the time of year where things could bust open any time!!
