They’re getting BIGGER! Plenty of Snappers to be caught, especially around high tide… anywhere in the bay. Some of the more popular spots have been Wantagh Park, Jones Beach Piers, Norman Levy Pier and the Point Lookout Pier.

Spearing and small live Killies fished below a float with a small Snapper Hook have been the most reliable bait, as usual. For lures the Fin Strike Snapper Poppers have been producing well and any small spoon like the Kastmaster’s and Sidewinders will do the job quite well too.

Some people have even been using Sabiki style bait catching rigs and catching the Snappers 3, 4 and 5 at a time!! Just be carefull and remember that you can only keep 10 per person, per day!!
