The HOT news right now is the offshore trolling bite that is going on, starting at about 25 miles offshore. There is a mix of Bluefin Tuna an occasional Yellowfin and Mahi Mahi. Most of it seems to be to the south and east of Jones and Fire island inlets. Position yourself to start fishing at first light around the 25 – 30 mile mark. Green machines, rainbow, green shell squids on spreader bars, birds and many fish on Diamond jigs as well. If you find the “life” getting bit has not been a problem.
