Striped bass fishing is still good in the usual back bay areas such as the 2nd & 3rd Wantagh Bridges, Black Banks and Haunts Creek or any other bank tha has deep water and good current. Don’t be afraid to try new areas though.

Clam chumming and whole clams on the hook is the preferred method, but there have been some fish caught on popping plugs as well.  Most fish are shorts but there are some fish in the 36” range in the bay. There are bunker in the ocean off of Long Beach any where from the beach to 40 ft. of water. You will have to do a little bit of work to find them. There have been fish to 40” on the bunker schools.
