Fluke Fishing Report 7-13

July 13th, 2010

Fluke fishing is still good in numbers but there is definitely a “shortage” in the keeper ratio. There are fish throughout the bay with areas such as Reynolds Channel, Swift Creek and the stretch from the 3rd Wantagh to Zach’s Bay being very good. It’s not uncommon to get reports of 20 to 30 fish per boat with no keepers. It seems that the keepers that are being caught in the bay have come from around the larger bridges such as the Big M, Loop Parkway and 2nd and 3rd Wantaghs. Evidence of this is Joey Stasio, age 12, 6lb. 8oz. fluke caught at the Big M on Tuesday 7/6..Way to go Joey!!

The ocean has the same deal, Plenty of fish but not many keepers.
