Flounder Report – Long Island South Shore – 4-3-09

April 3rd, 2009

As expected, not too much to report. However, we heard of 4 or 5 fish caught locally at the Seaford Town dock on Sandworms with lots of mussels for chum. Other than that…. nothing.

We did hear from Capt. Nick of the charter boat “No Time”. Nick took the trip to Raritan Bay and had 3 keepers. Raritan bay and Jamaica bay have been pretty reliable the past few years, early in the season but unfortunately it sounds like those areas haven’t been producing much just yet.

We would still recommend staying on the North side of the bay, in the mouth’s of the creeks and canals where you find the dark sticky mud. Make sure you bring plenty of Chum too, Clam chum and Mussels… and LOTS of it.

Good luck and if you get out… we would love to hear your reports!!
