Flounder fishing in our area is as we expected… generally speaking… if you catch one, you had a good day! However there are a few people who out their time in and manage to put a few in the box.

A few of our customers made the 30 or so mile trip to Raritan Bay and we had mixed reports from there. A few people had some decent fishing, with 10 to 20 keepers and a few people didn’t do well at all. Hard to say what the differences were because most people were fishing the same general areas.

Locally, there were very few fish caught. Sounds like one fish every here and there. However, we did have one report from Johnny Schaeffer, Chris Dechiaro and Carl Manesis. The three buddies fished on of the canals here in Wantagh and actually caught 8 nice keepers! They were using worms and mussels and plenty of chum! CLICK HERE to see a picture of these fish!
