Flounder Fishing Report – Long Island South Shore – 5-2-09
May 2nd, 2009No significant change around here to be honest, although the fishing in Jamaica Bay and Raritan Bay remains pretty steady. Not great fishing, but for those who put in the time and effort, they can manage a decent catch.

Flounder Report – Long Island South Shore 4-4-09
April 4th, 2009Reported to us yesterday, Friday, from Bob Gabriel…
Bob fished Milburn Creek in Baldwin at dead low tide. Using Bloodworms and chumming with mussels he managed 4 nice keeper Flounder! This has been about the best report we’ve had so far! Way to go Bob!!
The fish he kept were 2 – 12”, 1 – 13” and 1 – 14”… That should make for a nice dinner!!!
Keep the reports coming folks, even if you go fishing and don’t catch ANYTHING, we would still like to hear it!
Flounder Report – Long Island South Shore – 4-3-09
April 3rd, 2009As expected, not too much to report. However, we heard of 4 or 5 fish caught locally at the Seaford Town dock on Sandworms with lots of mussels for chum. Other than that…. nothing.
We did hear from Capt. Nick of the charter boat “No Time”. Nick took the trip to Raritan Bay and had 3 keepers. Raritan bay and Jamaica bay have been pretty reliable the past few years, early in the season but unfortunately it sounds like those areas haven’t been producing much just yet.
We would still recommend staying on the North side of the bay, in the mouth’s of the creeks and canals where you find the dark sticky mud. Make sure you bring plenty of Chum too, Clam chum and Mussels… and LOTS of it.
Good luck and if you get out… we would love to hear your reports!!
