Fluke – 13 pounds – BIGGEST EVER Weighed At Causeway

WOW…. A HUGE FLUKE for Tom Schwender and the biggest Fluke we have EVER weighed here at Causeway! This fish was weighed in almost 24 hours after it was caught. For those not familiar with what happens after you keep a fish, they start to de-hydrate after they die… so this fish was probably CLOSE TO 15 POUNDS when he landed it!!!

In Tom’s own words….

“I was Fishing with fellow Freeport Tuna Club members Bob Sabella, Charlie Goldstein and Dick Moreo aboard Dick’s boat the “Kathy O” in 50 feet of water outside Shinnecock Inlet. We were using the famous “Jigs Rigs” (which are no longer available since Jigsy passed away… R.I.P. Jigsy) except I put a SPRO Bucktail on the bottom of my rig. We knew this was a big fish and lucky for us, our ex “NBA Star” Charlie Goldstein used his LONG arms to put it in the net. As the fish and the net hit the deck he bit the jig off! He almost got away!”
