Striped Bass & Blue Fish Reports – Long Island, New York – October 4, 2009

October 4th, 2009

Striped Bass

The striped bass action has been quite slow as of late. The stipers have been very slow on the West Bar and in the bays. Any luck being had is on clams, bunker and eels. Unfortunately, there has been nothing great to report.

Bluefish

The bluefish action has also slowed to a crawl. We have had some reports of blues in the bay across from the construction dock. The reports also indicate that the action is best in the mornings at first light. Fish some 007′s and you should pick up some here and there.

Blackfish Action Good with Close of Sea Bass & Porgy Season

October 4th, 2009

The blackfish action has been very good toward the west in the bays and by the bridges. With the sea bass and porgy seasons closed, blackfishing is the only bottom fishing in town.
