Much of the same with the fluke. Fishing is very good action wise with a few keepers in the mix but that all comes to an end on Monday, June 22nd at midnight. Hopefully something changes between now and then but stay tuned and we’ll report any changes if they arise.

Ocean bottom fishing has still been good but there has been an influx of dogfish this week which makes things difficult. As the water warms, they should thin out.

Sea Bass have been the dominant fish being caught with some big porgies in the mix. Try fishing the reefs from 50′- 60′ of water.

Our first blue fish reports are trickling in to the shop. Anglers are reporting the blue fishing has been “okay” from the mouth of the Jones Inlet to the 3rd Wantagh Parkway Bridge in the state boat channel. Early mornings or evenings before the boat traffic begins has seemed to be the best time. Look for the birds diving. We recommend casting 007 Diamond Jigs or 1 oz. Kastmasters.

The striped bass fishing has stayed consistent with plenty of fish being caught at the bridges and deeper banks. Clam chumming has produced a few keepers in the mix.
