VMC Octopus Style Hook – Review

January 30th, 2009

We recently added a new hook to our inventory, the VMC Octopus style hooks in three of the most commonly used sizes. The Model is considered a “Cone Cut Live Bait Hook” but they are basically an Octopus style similar to the Gamakatsu model. However, they are made from VMC’s proprietary “permasteel” and they are sharp, sharp, SHARP… right out of the pack? VMC has always had a reputation for making some of the strongest hooks on the market, and these follow that pattern. When you hold one, and try to bend it in your hand… they don’t give… not even a little!! They also have an up-turned eye, ideal for snelling your own hooks and rigs!

Around here, clam chumming is one of the most popular methods for catching striped bass and these hooks will be PERFECT for that! They would also be a great hook for live-lining Bunker, Porgies, Mullet and even Eels!

Check them out… they are REALLY nice hooks!

We’ve made a change in our purchasing and shipping policy

January 29th, 2009

Unfortunately, due to an increase in attempted fraudulent purchases (thanks to this wonderful economy), we have been forced to change our policy on purchases. However, this will help to ensure that YOUR information is safe when ordering from causewaybaitandtackle.com.

Starting today, when you make a purchase, your “billing address” needs to match the “shipping address”.

We understand, especially around the holiday seasons, that you may want to order something and ship it elsewhere… you still can! The purchase will be held for review and WE WILL CONTACT YOU by calling the telephone number you list as the contact number.

For your own protection, we would suggest adding any additional address’ you may need to your credit card by calling your credit card company. This applies to ANY on-line purchasing, not just us at causewaybaitandtackle.com. It will protect YOU in the future!

When YOU can verify that this is a legitimate purchase… we’ll send it right out! Below is the NEW, OFFICIAL, POLCY:

Can you ship your order to an address that is different from your “Bill-To” address?

This is a very common question, especially around the holidays, and one that is easily resolved. There are times and circumstances when a customer would like to purchase a product and have it shipped to somewhere besides the address listed on their credit card statement.

On our order form we request that the billing and shipping address be the same. The reason we do this is for credit card and address verification purposes. All of our internet and telephone sales are verified via phone with the credit card company in order to protect both you and us against fraud. The credit card company will simply state that the transaction is an exact match when all is good. If the shipping address is NOT listed in your credit card data base with the credit card company, then the response will come back as an “address mismatch”. We cannot complete the order with address mismatches. Our customer care representative will telephone you and ask that you either add a secondary shipping address or ship to your billing address as on the credit card.

How to add a secondary shipping address?

This is very simple to do. Simply telephone your credit card company (800#) and inform them you wish to add a secondard shipping address onto your account. This process will take 5 minutes and then we will be able to ship to any address you have added to your account. This protects you against fraud and helps us process and ship your order in a timely fashion.
We appreciate your cooperation and apologize for any inconvenience.

Tsunami is fast becoming a best seller with ALL their lures and the new Timber Lure’s are sure to a hit as well.
