Rumor has it, the DEC has signed the 2008 Fluke (Summer Flounder) regulations… making it official. However, the DEC website has NOT been updated… surprise, surprise.
Season = May 15 (05-15-08) to September 1 (09-01-08)
Size Limit = 20 1/2″
Bag Limit = 4 fish
It’s rediculous, but it’s better than nothing!

This is a sad sad situation, and just plain dumb, do these people know anything at all!
Guess next year it will be 21.5 and so on for each year. Feel very sorry for these party boat captains. The fleets are shrinking quickly

Definitely SAD…. nice to know that OUR tax money is being used well. I just wish MORE recreational fisherman would speak up, contact their local legislators and attend the public meetings, then the fisheries “managers” might see that they are doing more harm than good.

One little hint to try and boat more keepers though…. FISH FOR BIG FISH…. use big baits and live baits, fish in areas where you have a better shot at the bigger ones. You should expect fewer bites, but the bites you do get should be the ones you’re looking for!
